We talked last time about our smart home, and how technology continues to evolve and change at a rapid pace.
We took a look back at the Jetson's, and what seemed so futuristic at one point in time, is our "normal" today.
Many of us now have smart TV's - they hook up to the internet, and the picture and sound is amazing!
We upgraded ours at home a few years ago, and while it suits our needs, I think it would be considered a dinosaur by today's standards.
I had the opportunity to learn about the latest and greatest recently, when a customer reached out to me and asked me to install their Samsung TV called "The Frame."
I had never heard of this model, but figured, it was the standard run of the mill smart TV.
I've installed many of these.
Not by any stretch!
The picture shown above, is the actual TV that I installed over the fireplace.
A TV, you say?
This looks like a picture.
Exactly!
When the TV isn't on - this is what it looks like.
Take another look - isn't it amazing?
A beautiful piece of art.
Art that you can change, personalize and display with a click of a button.
It mounts flush to the wall, so it looks like an actual picture in a frame, thus the name "The Frame."
It really wasn't hard or complicated to install, especially if you have experience with installing and hanging big screen televisions.
So, when the family is gathered around the big screen enjoying the game, or a great movie, or the kids are doing some gaming, you have all the bells and whistles of a state-of-the-art TV.
Great picture and sound.
When the TV is off, you have a beautiful piece of artwork, that in no way resembles a TV.
It looks like a beautiful piece of artwork that goes with your home decor.
You'll see in the link below, there are endless choices that you can use to show as your "picture."
You can experiment with matting colors; you can display both horizontally and vertically if you choose.
You can change your artwork daily, seasonally, or choose not to change it at all, which somewhat defeats the purpose, but the point is there are lots of options!
Or you choose, you can show pictures of your family vacation on the big screen.
Or that favorite Christmas pic.
This gives those of us an alternative, who really don't like having a big screen TV cluttering up our walls in a formal living space, as well as giving an option to put a TV where you traditionally might not think of doing so.
It's probably one of the neatest things that I've seen in a long time!
How did the Jetson's not see this coming? 😎
I've attached a link below that gives a really great overview of this latest piece of home technology.
I'm sure there are other manufacturers that make these, I'm just familiar with Samsung, as that was the model that I installed.
They come in a variety of sizes, as do regular TV's.
There are a lot of other links, articles and such available on this technology, so do your homework.
We are a few weeks away from Super Bowl Sunday, and I know that may be a good reason to do some TV shopping - maybe you need to research "the frame" models to add some personalization and beauty to your already beautiful home!
As usual, if you need help to get this installed, and up and running, don't hesitate to reach out, and CHS would be happy to help!
